Our Story
Where It All Began
Alex has a strong connection to Walthamstow and has always cared about improving local homes and public spaces. He wanted to make it easier for people in his community to access practical, dependable property-care services.
Background in Youth Support
Before ECAMS, Alex worked supporting young people. Part of that work involved maintaining shared living spaces and encouraging responsibility — showing first-hand how much consistency and care matter.
Developing the ECAMS Idea
With mentoring and business support through The Prince's Trust programme, Alex developed the idea further. He surveyed local residents, distributed flyers and had door-to-door conversations across Walthamstow to understand what people really needed.
Starting During COVID
Alex began providing local cleaning services during COVID, helping customers with car cleaning, ovens, carpets, windows and other property-related jobs.
The idea was simple: make things easier. Rather than arranging several different people, customers could use one point of contact, with agreed services brought together where appropriate.
Growing Through Recommendations
Customer recommendations and positive feedback helped ECAMS grow. Over time, ECAMS has worked with organisations including High Commission of Canada, Hunters, Black Katz, Curchods, Foxtons, Hackney Council and Simple Life homes.
Growing Beyond Walthamstow
ECAMS has since carried out work in London, Birmingham and Manchester. As the business develops, ECAMS remains open to future opportunities beyond the UK.
